9 times Amateur Standard Ballroom Champions
Terrence & Shanelle are the fourth generation of ballroom dancers in the Low family. Their great grandparents brought ballroom dancing to Singapore in the 1930s, while their grandfather, Mr Sunny Low, became a prominent icon for dancing in the 1960s and 1970s.
Under the tutelage of their parents, Melvyn & Nancy Low, Singapore’s undefeated Champions, Terrence & Shanelle are emerging to become rightful champions of their generation. In 2014, they achieved the All-Singapore Amateur Champion title. To date, they have already garnered 9 Amateur Open Championship titles under their belt.
Despite being in their early 20s, the young couple have plenty of experience in competition and dance instruction. Terrence has been dancing and moving his feet since the age of 3, and has been competing internationally for over 15 years. In terms of teaching experience, 2015 marks Terrence’s 8th year in the business of delivering quality instruction to clientele ranging from corporate giants to teens looking to develop their passion for ballroom dancing.
Terrence & Shanelle are also avid dance choreographers and performers. They starred as invited artists in BBC’s Dancing with the Stars, JF Lennon’s Lifestyle Extravaganza and have been choreographers and guest performers in SMU Ballare’s gl’Amour productions since 2010.
